Constructing knowledge: a constructivist approach to personal pedagogy

Constructing knowledge: a constructivist approach to personal pedagogy

What do Bill Clinton, Siemens, Vygotsky, cheesy buzzwords and a stack of flipchart paper & pens have in common?

In march I was involved in agitating the discussion around personal pedagogies on #CreativeHE. I wrote an article reflecting on my own personal pedagogy around the ideas of constructivism which was used as a stimulus for the week. The article has since been published by Creative Academic and you can download the issue here:

Creative Academic Magazine Issue 7C, March 2017 on pp17 -19, where you will also find some answers to the opening question!

That week I also reflected on my metaphors for the role of a teacher in this blog. If you haven't yet joined in with #CreativeHE then I thoroughly recommend the experience - it's a great opportunity for guided reflection. Check out Norman Jackson's introduction in the magazine above and take a little time out to consider what is your personal pedagogy?
